Meet The Team
What is Healthspan?
Your healthspan is the portion of your life you spend in good health, free from chronic diseases and thriving in your physical, mental, and social well-being. This is much different than your lifespan, which is simply how long you live and doesn’t consider the quality of your life.
At Healthspan DPC, we measure our success by your healthspan. Above and beyond how long you live, we’re passionate about improving your quality of life. This is only possible through proactive, patient-centered care.
Our entire team is dedicated to that mission.
Aaron Neisen, DO MBA, Founding Physician

Dr. Neisen is a dedicated family medicine physician with a deep connection to northeast Missouri. He earned his undergraduate degree from Truman State University and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences (now KCU). During medical school, he also completed an MBA in Healthcare Leadership at Rockhurst University, showcasing his commitment to combining medical expertise with organizational and leadership skills.
Following medical school, Dr. Neisen completed a rigorous three-year Family Medicine residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. During this time, he began moonlighting in critical access emergency rooms throughout Missouri and Iowa, where he gained extensive experience managing acute and emergent patient care. Over five years, he amassed more than 13,000 patient care hours in emergency medicine, further solidifying his expertise in high-pressure environments.
Two years ago, Dr. Neisen returned to the clinic and hospital setting, bringing with him a wealth of diverse experience to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care. His broad skill set and dedication to serving rural communities continue to guide his practice as he balances his roles in clinical, inpatient, and emergency medicine.
Matthew Scoggin, FNP, Founding Nurse Practitioner

Matt discovered his passion for healthcare during an anatomy class in high school, which inspired him to pursue a career in nursing. He earned his undergraduate degree from Culver-Stockton College, where he also played college basketball for the Wildcats. While his basketball dreams didn’t lead to the NBA, Matt’s dedication to education and nursing never wavered.
After graduating nursing school at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Matt began his career caring for acutely ill patients in the hospital. This experience deepened his commitment to improving patient outcomes, but it also sparked a desire to make a broader impact on the health of individuals and families within the community.
Motivated to expand his knowledge and scope of practice, Matt pursued further education and recently graduated from Walden University as a nurse practitioner. He is excited to bring his expertise, compassion, and dedication to Healthspan, where he looks forward to helping patients achieve their health and wellness goals.

While working full-time, Stephanie pursued and completed an MBA in Management from Rockhurst University, further enhancing her expertise in leadership and business strategy.
For the past six years, Stephanie has dedicated herself to raising her three young sons—ages six, five and three—while managing the family’s small businesses. With nearly a decade of experience, Adrienn has walked alongside women through fertility journeys, birth control decisions, PCOS management, menopause transitions, and everyday gynecologic care. Her approach is rooted in education and respect—she believes every patient deserves a safe, judgment-free space to ask questions and feel heard.

Katherine Gillette, MA, LPC

Katherine brings a rich and varied background to Healthspan, shaped by decades of experience in education, crisis care, and mental health counseling. She began her professional journey teaching at the North Dakota School for the Deaf after earning her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary and Deaf Education from the University of Northern Colorado. But it was her deep care for people and their emotional well-being that eventually led her to complete a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling at Colorado Christian University.
Since 2015, Katherine has worked as a self-employed licensed professional counselor, offering clients a compassionate and grounded space to process life’s challenges. Her work has included serving as a program coordinator for the crisis stabilization unit at North Range Behavioral Health, where she supported individuals navigating acute mental health needs. Katherine is also a certified equine therapist through the Gestalt Equine Institute of the Rockies and has a special interest in combining traditional counseling with the healing presence of horses.
Whether she’s working one-on-one with clients or connecting with families, Katherine is known for her warmth, wisdom, and calm presence. She’s excited to bring her passion for mental health to Healthspan as part of our expanding commitment to whole-person care.
