Is direct primary care the same as insurance?
While a plan with Healthspan, or another direct primary care provider, can cover many of the healthcare services you need, we aren’t insurance, and we can’t replace your health insurance. We can’t provide emergency services or things like cancer treatment. We recommend all patients continue to carry major medical insurance.
Are you uninsured?
We get it – health insurance has gotten expensive, and not everyone can get it through work or afford it on the marketplace.
Talk to the team at Healthspan to discuss a membership plan that can help keep you healthy in the meantime. While we aren’t insurance, and can’t replace insurance, we can ensure you have direct access to a primary care physician. We can also help you navigate the options and services out there to get health insurance or become part of a health share.
Already insured?
Even if you’re already carrying insurance, you’ve probably found that it can be difficult to use, resulting in surprise bills and a new doctor every time you go in for an appointment. And your premiums just keep going up.
Healthspan DPC supplements your existing health insurance so that regular doctor’s appointments, common prescriptions, and many other primary care services can be covered in one convenient place with the same provider every time you visit. You’ll have unlimited access to your provider with no co-pays and no hidden fees.
Bring Down Your Insurance Costs: High-Deductible Health Insurance
Because it’s so easy to meet with your doctor at Healthspan, and because we believe in preventative healthcare, we believe you can improve your baseline health, requiring fewer emergency visits and unexpected healthcare costs.
If you’re relatively healthy and don’t visit the doctor often, a high-deductible health plan (HDHP) might make sense. These plans typically have lower premiums but higher out-of-pocket costs, making them a great option to combine with a DPC membership. Your HDHP can act as a safety net for major medical expenses, while DPC handles the routine and preventive care you need.
